wow. look at the webs

kinda like walkin' through the house some nights, you realize that there are cobwebs everywhere. mainly in the corners no one likes to visit.

anyways, ain't too much to say. i am going to try and be better about posting here. so if anyone swings by, lemme know.

found out some interesting things in the past month or so. back in high school i was told i tore a leg muscle in my lower right leg. the leg that would go on and grow to hate me, and eventually turn on me and develop cancer. anyways, that leg muscle didn't so much as break as it became a broken bone. turns out i broke my fibula back in high school and never knew it. it healed all ugly on its own, but never stopped me from playing hockey.

neither will my busted up femur.

the gang's getting back together. i don't know when, i have no idea why, but the white wolf hockey team is forming up again. its gonna be....

hell. it'll be a blast. i cannot wait to start running and cutting, and stickhandling. i miss it so much. just gotta get the results of my bone scan and then, i'm back in the game.

that's about all i got at the moment. ava lost her first tooth, jasmine got a sweet purple car. lotsa fun stuff for the past few months. hopefully i'll be back more.

got back from iceland last week. was there with the whole white wolf crowd as we merged with ccp. i had hoped to get more sketching done than i did, but it was a great trip.

- met the icelandic equivalent of our company, in terms of people, their history, and all that goodness.

- saw some of the coolest graffiti i have seen. its like they take pains to make it look cool as opposed to the stuff we get with is giant obscenities done in a "wicked" style.

- discovered what will become my first tat to symbolize the trip. its called the wolf's cross. its basically thor's hammer (not the marvel comics one) and a wolf's head. it kinda symbolizes the two companies coming together.

as far as the comic goes, its closer. i got re-inspired on the trip over there, and hopefully, after friday i will have a new computer and wacom tablet that will let me get closer to the finished thing than i have ever been.

anyways, gotta roll, wife is home and its dinner time.

strange things are afoot at the circle k

i love that line, even if i misquoted it. just kinda sums up the way the week and past month have gone.

anyways, i think i'm finally ready to start work on writing my comic. i've gotten most of the main characters looks defined and their back stories roughed out. nows the biggest hurdle. committing it to paper (digital or real). just seems so final.

Falcons v. Katrina Victims

tonight the falcons face the saints in a no win situation. the saints are in a win-win. if the saints win, of course they win, but they win by being able to play in front of their home crowd (not the disaster of playing a "home" game against the giants last year in new york).

the falcons find themselves in the role of bad guy. they cannot win, even if they win. if they win, it'll be because the saints were overcome by the emotion of the game, and if they lose, they obviously don't win.

so, i hope the falcons win, that its a good game, and that new orleans continues on the road to recovery. especially the outer areas that appear to still need major help. i know that downtown getting put back together first helps get money back into new orleans, but i want to see that money get spent to help out the outer rim.

mattland take two

ok, so like i tried this once before, but failed and failed miserably. anyways, look in here to see what i'm up to, how my recovery is coming* and anything else that crosses my mind.

currently, i'm fretting over my fantasy football team. here's my lineup so far:
qb - michael vick, atl (so far, so awesome)
rb - reuben droughs, cle (i know, i know, cleveland has a football team?)
rb - ahman green, gb (yes, he died like 2 years ago, but according to the medical report, he's getting better)
rb - fred taylor, jax (he lost the fragile part)
rb - kevan barlow, nyj (just cause he called his coach a nazi, doesn't make him all bad does it?)
wr - chad johnson, cin (he's got the talent, the moves and that grill)
wr - anquan boldin, ari (yes, that arizona, the one with kurt warner as qb)
wr - marques colston, no (i have no idea who he is)
wr - troy williamson, min (he's not a bust, well, not yet)
te - ben watson, ne (the internet made me do it)
k - david akers, phi (he'll fight the whole giants bench. he's not your ordinary kicker)
d - baltimore ravens (ray lewis still scares me)

not a bad lineup so far in our league, but like half of them don't play in week 6. that's my fret. so any ideas, lemme know.

*i'm currently 3+ years cancer free. long story, perhaps i'll share at another time.
